It is yet another day in the United States, which means there has been yet another train derailment. On Sunday 9, 2023, a train derailed in Jasper, Alabama, injuring two crew members who needed medical attention. Luckily these were minor injuries, and these two individuals were released earlier today.
11 train cars were involved that were carrying diesel fuel and engine oil. This did spill, but Norfolk Southern is stating that there is no present danger to those residing in Jasper. They are still working on clean-up at this time.
