The 2023 word of the year should be "derail." On April 8, 2023, 5 train cars derailed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Luckily the cars involved in this derailment were all empty. However, this is the third derailment Norfolk Southern has had in the past two months. Many citing the company's negligence in mitigating these derailments.
