Tennessee Expelled House Members Seek Re-election in Special Election

Tennessee state House members Justin Pearson and Justin Jones are seeking to run in Tennessee's special election. For those who are unaware, Pearson and Jones were both expelled from the House for simply standing with the thousands of passionate students who gathered at the Tennessee House enraged at the lack of gun reform from legislation within the state. Both members are avid within their communities and are phenomenal activists. The odds of both getting re-elected are probable, and it only demonstrates that while lawmakers might try and silence their opposition, an entire movement cannot be stopped. Plus, expelling these members invalidates every person who voted them in office. Subsequently, this is only going to make more people go out and vote.

I am disheartened to see members like Pearson and Jones become expelled, but it is so powerful to see them stand strong in the face of opposition. I will be following this story and will be providing updates as I hear and read about them.
